It is with heavy hearts that we inform you that Kati passed over the bridge this afternoon on the way to the vet. Please keep her dad in your thoughts.

I’m a 19-year-old college student working part-time, and I’m reaching out for help with my cat, Kati. She’s my first pet and has been with me throughout my first year of college. She’s helped me through some of the hardest days and having her by my side has brought me comfort and stability when I’ve needed it most. She’s not just a pet to me, she’s my best friend and family. Kati was recently diagnosed with Peritoneopericardial Diaphragmatic Hernia (PPDH), a rare condition she was likely born with. It caused her abdominal organs to move into her chest, putting pressure on her lungs and heart. She started having trouble breathing, and fluid built up around her lungs. She’s already had emergency care and had that fluid drained, but now she needs surgery as soon as possible to survive.
The total cost of her surgery and post-op care is expected to be around $11,000. I’ve already paid what I could for her diagnostics and emergency treatment, but I simply can’t cover the rest on my own. As a full-time student with limited income, I’m doing everything I can, but I really need help to give her a real shot at recovery. Any support, whether it’s a donation or sharing her story, would mean the world to me.
