August 11, 2015 – A small two-pound dog comes home wearing the smallest pink sweater imaginable. The family named her Bella – a reflection of how beautiful her brown shiny fur was and her perfect bright white fur on her paws and nape of the neck. Bella was born on 05/27/2015 my family and I also bought our first home that May. We decided to get our first pet, and she was exactly what we needed in our lives. Years pass and Bella has developed certain issues; she suffers from HGE twice which leads to her only being able to eat prescription food. She also has developed chronic bronchitis with mild collapsed trachea. In 2025 I had two accidents with Bella. I suffer from necrotic hips and while I was holding her my hip gave up and I fell on her – which resulted in her first injury – torn ACL with dislocated patella on the back left leg. Surgery was expensive but luckily it wasn’t as expensive a year ago. Today Bella suffers from this same injury but on the back right leg. This brings me to her new condition – seizures. This year we have noticed that Bella has been having episodes that could possibly be seizures or panic attacks. She starts to have facial atrophy, she defecates on herself, shakes uncontrollably, and is left lethargic. We love Bella, she is our first pet, and words cannot describe how much she means to us. If I could take all her pain and suffer for her I would do it in a heartbeat. Bella has saved my life countless times. I suffer from deep depression and without Bella I doubt I would be here today. I thank you for reading this far, and I thank you for not just helping myself but for also helping those before me. May we keep coming together to help our best friends.
