Picasso’s Story: The Cat Who Painted the Sky Meet Picasso (aka Pico de Gato), my sweet and gentle 4-year-old boy who has brought so much love, laughter, and companionship into my life and has been there to help me through the darkest times and there to help me celebrate the good times Right now, I am facing one of the scariest moments I ever experienced. On 8/24/26, Picasso suddenly became very sick. I rushed him to an emergency veterinary hospital, where the doctors discovered that he was critically blocked (unable to urinate). After extensive examination and testing, the veterinary team told me that Picasso needs emergency treatment and will potentially need emergency surgery to have a chance at recovering since he has a tear in his bladder wall or urethra which means that urine is leaking into his abdomen which is making him sick and critical. I am devastated, heartbroken, and terrified. Anyone who knows Picasso knows that he isn’t “just a cat.” He is my family. He sleeps curled up beside me every night and always reminds me when it’s time for snacks. He has been with our family through some of the hardest years of my life I just want to bring my baby home and not have to say a final goodbye.
