On Oct 18, 2024 my mother unfortunately passed away. My mother was my everything. This was a big loss that I was and still am having to cope with. While grieving I saw a post on Facebook from Animal Control with a beautiful disabled dog in need of a loving family. He had been in Animal Control since he was a puppy. I knew as soon as I saw him he needed me just as much as I needed him. I got in contact with the animal control and it was a done deal. I instantly fell in love. In November Squeak was officially mine. He was happy and playful. Got along great with my other animals and grandchildren. I took him for a well check at my veterinarian’s office. We discussed his bad paw, which I knew about prior to adopting him. This is why he was deemed “disabled”. At this time the vet discovered a tumor on his good leg. I brought him in at a later date and the tumor had grown and was biopsied. The results came back inconclusive. The vet has recommended that we remove the tumor on the good leg. He will in the future, once healed after the removal of the tumor, will need an amputation of the bad paw. Animal Control is willing to help cover the cost of the amputation of the bad paw. They will not help with the removal of his tumor. I am extremely hurt by this as I just got him only 2 month ago. Squeak is now FAMILY. I don’t want to lose him. Especially just after losing my mother.
