I don’t want to post this, but I need help. This beauty is my first fur baby girl, Scooter. I have had her since she was 8 weeks old. She was born in a log pile in Burlington, WV. I took her from a man who was not so nice to her because she had accidents on the floor. I said I’d take her and that was that. She is now 13 years young. This girl has been through everything with me and has given so much love when I needed it. 3 relationships, 2 marriages, 1 divorce, 1 pregnancy, several moves, etc. She is my baby. Last week I noticed she wasn’t acting right. She couldn’t stand, she was falling, drooling, not eating or bathing, and more.. She usually gets a steroid shot every few months for skin and eye issues, but these weren’t the same symptoms. I took her to the vet and they put her on 3 medicines to try. I gave them to her as needed. Almost a week has gone by and she wasn’t improving. I took her back to the vet for blood work to see what else could be wrong. The vet came back and said that her kidneys are shutting down. He said we can try a IV catheter and see how she does and keep her at the vets. All of this was a shock and heart wrenching to hear. This is the part where I am asking for help. I know everyone is hurting from what has been going on and my family is one of them. All this vetting was unexpected costs that I just don’t have right now. But, I will do anything I can for my baby girl. She spent a week at the vets and they got her numbers down. She lost a lot of weight and is currently home on meds now. I have to take her back for more blood work in about a week. I am doing whatever I can for her. I hate asking for help, but I am at a loss right now and need help.
