Our dog, Riley has been struggling with skin issues for a few months. I’ve taken her to the vet 3 times and she’s had her diet changed, she’s been given expensive allergy shots, and medicine. Nothing was getting better. It turns out she was struggling from a skin infection. I noticed she was super lethargic and was hiding, which concerned me. She looked skinnier and had no energy and was barely eating. So, I decided to call the vet back. During the exam they realized she was extremely dehydrated and wanted to do an ultrasound of her stomach and give her fluids. The ultrasound showed something going on in her stomach, but they couldn’t get a good view. I paid $1600 for her to be admitted and receive several rounds of barium and x-rays so they could possibly get a view of what was in there. Unfortunately, the barium did not move nor did it highlight the item enough to see what it was, so our vet had to go in surgically.
