Question: I have a fundraiser already in place. Does that mean I can’t use Companion Bridge?
Answer: No, we can still post your story after we receive the paperwork we require, talk to your vet and approve the story. We will then start a campaign for you. We just do not cross-post, so your other fundraiser link cannot be on your page with us. Historically, pages with two fundraisers do not do as well.
Question: Can you recommend a vet or specialist in my area?
Answer: No, for legal reasons we can’t recommend who your pet should see. We do have a link on our resource page to help you find a Board Certified Vet in the United States.
Question: Why has my story not been posted?
Answer: Stories do not get posted until the information is confirmed through the vet or specialist. That is why it is so important to fill out the form completely, ASAP.
Question: I am not very computer savvy; is there someone who can help me?
Answer: Absolutely! Just email info@companionbridge.org and we will get back to you within 24 hours with someone to help you. If you don’t have access to a computer, you can mail information to Companion Bridge, 8260 Ahearn Drive, Millersville, MD 21108.
Question: Is there anything you don’t cover?
Answer: Yes. We do not cover:
- vaccinations, spay /neuter or euthanasia
- genetic hip and knee problems i.e. non physical trauma
- long term treatments such as cancer, diabetes, respiratory etc.
- funds for blindness or eye issues unless the animal’s life is in danger
- ongoing physical therapy such as acupuncture, chiropractic, laser etc.
- elective surgeries / treatment
Question: What happens to the money if we raise more than needed?
Answer: The extra funds will go to another animal in need. If there are no stories posted at that time, the funds will go into the General Donation Fund to be used at a later time.
Question: What age do you have to be to post a story?
Answer: You must be 18 years or older to post a story on Companion Bridge. We are happy to help minors with their pets, but all paperwork and the story must be submitted by the minor’s parent or legal guardian.
Question: Are we guaranteed that all the money will be raised?
Answer: No, there is no guarantee, but we will try to the best of our ability. We will supplement with General Donation” funds when we can. In emergencies, it is always best to ask the vet for any financial options they have while we get a campaign started.

Answer: No, Care Credit does not allow a third party to pay on your account.
